Program is divided into 6 modules covering all the important areas required for Financial Planning & Wealth Management.
CFPCM Module Description :
This six module, in-depth curriculum provides equal emphasis on all financial disciplines, including the financial planning process, risk management, investment planning, tax planning, retirement planning and estate planning. The program is practical and client-based, incorporating real-life situations that promote immediate professional application.
Mandatory Module: Introduction to Financial Planning
The first module is a self-contained introductory course, covering a broad range of personal financial topics that form the foundation of the career of any financial services professional. The module is comprehensive and provides complete overview of the financial planning process, a review of all the financial products and instruments, as well as a review of the legal, ethical and regulatory issues affecting financial planning in India.
Module1: Risk Management and Insurance Planning
The transfer of risk through the use of insurance is a principal method of handling risk exposures. This module examines the principles of risk management and insurance to identify a client's risk exposures and to select appropriate risk management techniques. The module reviews basic insurance contracts pertaining to both life and general insurance products and provides practical insurance checklists. Analysis of medical, disability and life insurance needs and methods of determining the type and amount of insurance best suited to the client's situation are examined. Students are expected to be able to understand and apply these concepts in formulating appropriate financial plans for their clients.
Module 2: Retirement Planning & Employee Benefits
As Indian population ages, it is critical that financial service professionals know how to advise clients properly to achieve a secure retirement. This module teaches retirement need analysis techniques and the process to be used when developing a retirement plan. The Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Public Provident Fund (PPF), Superannuation Fund and other schemes, which may be used in planning for retirement, will also be reviewed.
Module 3: Investment Planning
Having the knowledge to evaluate and choose the right investments is basic to the implementation of a sound financial plan. This module reviews all categories of investments, client assessment techniques, economic factors, risk and return analysis, valuation methods, asset allocation techniques and portfolio performance evaluation methods. Finally, concepts and techniques used in portfolio construction and portfolio management are reviewed.
Module 4: Tax Planning and Estate Planning
Taxes can affect various financial decisions. Having knowledge of tax laws and related issues will greatly enhance the effectiveness of a financial planner. This module aims to increase a student's knowledge and skills in the area of tax planning, by providing an overview of the major components of tax. Although the taxation of groups, such as companies and trusts is outlined, the module is concerned primarily with the taxation of individuals. Estate planning is a critical element of a complete financial plan, especially for advisers working with high-net-worth clients. The estate planning portion of this module introduces the student to the process of developing an estate plan, including a review of the essential tools of estate planning: wills, powers of attorney, gifting programs and joint property ownership.
Module5: Financial Plan Construction
This final module builds upon the knowledge attained in the previous modules and integrates all aspects of personal finance that are required for constructing a comprehensive financial plan. Students will learn the necessary steps required for gathering and analysing client data, developing, recommending and implementing appropriate strategies, and finally the important aspects related to the ongoing monitoring and assessment of financial plans. A review of the legal, ethical and regulatory issues affecting financial planners will also be covered.

• Minimum time required for completion of the course is 7 months and your registration is valid for 7 years.
Course Material:
The course material for the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) program in India is sourced from the Financial Planning Association of Australia Limited and localized to the Indian environment, markets and regulatory regime. The course material thus offers an international flavour with local ingredients. It has been set to the stringent academic requirements of the AFP. Course material consists of study guides for the six modules of the CFPCM curriculum. Each study guide is further subdivided into topics. Each topic in the study guides is presented in an easy to read format.
Class Schedule:
• Classes are scheduled on Sundays (in the first half) and on weekdays (in the evening).
• Classes are provided 1½ month before the exam.
Exam details:
• The examination takes place in every 2 month(6 times a year)
• One has to sit for the Online Exam at the NSE centers.
• At the most one can sit for 2 modeules.
• Duration of the exam is 2 hrs.
• Questions will be in MCQ form.
Requirements for enrolment:
• 2 photocopy of your Graduation/Higher education Mark Sheet.
• 4 passport size photographs.
• Letter from the Company.( in case you are working in any financial organization) |
